Texting:
I texted a couple of friends this week to see about hanging out this weekend. Knowing that my friends don't have considerable authority over me, nor do I have to prove anything to them, I talked casually. I initiated the conversation with a simple "whatsup." I was motivated to see if my friends wanted to hangout simply for fun. My stance in the situation was that these are my close friends so it would make me happy to spend some time with them, and they shouldn't be surprised to see that because they should want to spend time with me as well being that I haven't seen them in a while. I benefited them by explaining the directions to my new house because I recently moved.
Blog Post:
In this situation I was assigned to respond to the question "is everyone an author?" This isn't a question I have often wondered about so it took me a few minutes to formulate an answer. My audience was my classmates, and my teacher, so I knew that I had to come about the topic respectfully, and fallow the guidelines of 200 words or more for full credit on the assignment. I wanted to show my audience why i think that everyone is an author, but that its only my opinion and I don't stand against anyone who disagrees. It helped to know that my audience aside from the teacher knew only as much as I did about the topic. I also didn't feel pressured to express my opinion on the topic knowing that everybody else has their own opinions as well. In writing about this topic i didn't want to exclude anybody, so I found a way to explain that everyone is an author.
Short Film Question Responses:
I recently watched a film on the Jamaican economy and why it did and has done so poorly. After the video my classmates and I had to individually respond to fallow up questions on the short film. I knew that I needed to try and answer the questions correctly and accordingly to the information I had just obtained from the video in order to get a good grade on the assignment. If the questions are answered correctly I don't have to worry about any of my classmates resisting my answers because they are based on fact and cant be argued with. I felt a little pressured because there were some questions I couldn't remember the answer to, and I knew that some of my classmates probably could. My main goal in writing my answers to the film questions was in hopes to getting a good grade on the assignment.
