Rhetorical Thinking, and Acting

Thinking rhetorically is a mindful process of considering all sides, context, audience, and identifying a purpose. Acting rhetorically is carefully making your way through any given situation by portraying yourself in a certain way. In thinking rhetorically we must start by listening. Weather its a text book, a peer, a teacher, or a video. We need to try and understand where the person, or piece of writing is coming from, and what aspects in their life may have influenced them to think or feel such a way about a topic. Then we must determine how we feel and why we may feel that way. Then in order to formulate a solid opinion, or be able to back up our opinion we must research the topic or whatever it may be and get a better understanding on it. In acting rhetorically we must also apply all of the aspects of rhetorical thinking, but instead of just figuring something out we might actually act upon ideas. In acting rhetorically we must consider who is watching us, and what steps we might take to portray our self's in the way we want to be. We must also figure out how to make people want to be engaged in how we are acting upon something.
